Saturday on the Sudbury River

We had good weather the morning of the canoe outing Mr. Rhines organized for the morning of May 12th.  Our group of mostly young scouts and soon-to-be scouts paddled downstream into Fairhaven Bay, then retraced their strokes upstream in an increasing breeze.   But it was generally easy going, and all hands demonstrated burgeoning skill with their paddles, and arrived back on land dry and safe.

Ian’s water-polo ball splashed scouts when hurled close to their craft,  but that wildness didn’t scare the fishes away from Kent’s worm-baited hook, as you can see in the gallery of photos for this adventure.

It was fun to see new faces in the troop, namely Kent and Jack , and Jack’s dad, Daryl.
