Troop 127 traveled Friday late afternoon on May 18, for a 3-hour drive to the Boothbay Railway Village in Boothbay, Maine. Troop 127 came the farthest of all the troops (mostly mid-coast Maine) at the Camporee, arriving after 10 PM due to traffic and stops.
Plenty of activity on the next day with merit badge stations on first aid, ham radio, automotive maintenance, citizenship, railroading, and more. Boothbay Railway Village is based on the old 2-foot gauge track, which was used in Maine in the 19th century. Among railroad cars and older buildings that have been relocated to the site is large building with an extensive collection of older automobiles.
Troop visited Cabelas Outdoor Store, outside of Portland, Maine on the trip back.
