Scouts and Scouters of Troop 127 helped their town celebrate and honor its veterans by placing flowers and flags Saturday at the graves of those who served in their country’s wars from 1976 to the present, and by recognizing the Lincoln’s living veterans on Memorial Day itself.
Scouts arrived early Monday to load chairs into Mr. Antia’s pickup truck, then set them up on the library lawn where they would be occupied for the remainder of the morning by a devout and enthusiastic audience.
Scouts and Cub Scouts marched in the parade, served as the color guard, carried the memorial wreath, and stuck around afterward to take the chairs back to Bemis Hall.
